Love You, Bye!
Your phone is a 2004 flip phone again. Read the caller ID on the outside, flip it open to answer, and close it to hang up at exactly the right moment. Or the rudest one.
Coming soon to the App Store
Designed for iPhone Duo. The outside screen is the caller ID, opening the phone answers, and closing it hangs up. Hold it tall and it's a classic flip phone, with the screen above the keypad.
Six callers, each with an unwritten rule for when to hang up, over a five-day week. No account, no ads and no in-app purchases. Love You, Bye! works offline and collects no data.
How a call plays
- The closed phone rings. The little outside screen shows who's calling.
- Open the phone to answer. The caller talks in speech bubbles, a syllable at a time.
- Close the phone to hang up. Get the moment right and the stars drop in. Cut someone off and you'll see exactly what you cut, under a RUDE stamp, and Mom will call straight back.
- At the end of the day, the outside screen prints your phone bill, with the last words of every call and your grade.
On iPhone Duo
| Pose | What it does |
|---|---|
| Closed (outer display) | The caller ID: who's ringing, missed calls, texts, voicemail lights and the day's phone bill. Closing the phone during a call hangs up. |
| Open (inner display, held wide or tall) | The call: the caller's words and the keypad. Opening the phone while it rings answers. |
| Partly folded (book or laptop) | From Wednesday, when a second call beeps in: hold the phone half-closed for a moment to switch lines. |
Only the moment you start to close counts, never how hard or fast you close. A day is about 6 to 11 opens and closes.
On other iPhones
Love You, Bye! plays on every iPhone with iOS 27 or later. Without a hinge, the screen shows the flip phone: tap the lid to open it, swipe down or press END to hang up, and press HOLD to switch lines. The rules and timing are the same. On iPhone Duo you can turn on the on-screen lid in Settings, too.
Every call is made up. The app never makes, receives or shows real phone calls, and never touches your contacts.
